NATIONAL CELEBRATIONSAG SWITZERLAND
Beschreibung
On August 1, Switzerland celebrates its birthday. In Stoos, the festivities begin as early as July 31 and continue from the afternoon well into the evening. It’s a laid-back, lively atmosphere right in the heart of the mountains.
Stoosplatz becomes a gathering place for enjoyment, socializing, and living tradition. The village festival brings people together: locals, visitors, and anyone who appreciates authentic mountain experiences. A relaxed festival atmosphere with musical entertainment ranging from traditional to modern sets the perfect mood. Sometimes Schwyzerörgeli, sometimes a band. The main thing is good vibes.
A special moment is the festive address by National Council member Heinz Theiler, accompanied by the sounds of the alphorn and flag-waving—a moment to listen, pause, and savor.
As dusk falls, the magic of the mountains takes over. The lantern parade makes children’s eyes light up. Due to the current ban on fires and fireworks in the canton of Schwyz, the traditional bonfire will not be lit this year. We appreciate your understanding.
A festival that blends tradition with a lighthearted spirit. Deliberately without fireworks, but with all the more atmosphere.
